The collection stresses abstract design, bold color combinations and fine workmanship. This group of quilts contains very traditional quilt patterns such as:
Diamond in the Square, Bars, Inside Border, Sunshine and Shadow, 9-Patch, Star of Bethlehem, Baskets, as well as unique design creations. It expresses the spiritual environment and formal inventiveness of the women who produced these quilts in America at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century.
